FATEN SHINKAFA Recipe

Name: FATEN SHINKAFA

Origin: Northern Nigeria

Ingredients:

• Rice
• Palm oil
• Brisket bones
• Beans
• Onions
• Peppermix
• White habanero
• Salt
• Seasoning
• Ginger garlic powder
• Spinach or Yakuwa or Rama
• Water

Steps:

1. Wash and soak beans until slightly tender
2. Cook brisket bones with seasoning until flavorful stock forms
3. Parboil rice and rinse thoroughly
4. Heat palm oil and sauté onions with pepper mix
5. Add beans and meat stock into the pot
6. Stir in rice and mix thoroughly
7. Add water and cook until soft and well combined
8. Add spinach or traditional greens and simmer briefly
9. Adjust seasoning and allow to rest before serving
