Name: Unripe plantain chips

Origin: Nigeria

Ingredients:

  • Ripe or slightly green plantains
  • vegetable oil
  • salt
  • optional seasonings like chili powder or paprika

Steps:

  1. Peel the plantains and slice them thinly
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan until hot
  3. Carefully place the slices into the hot oil in batches
  4. Fry until golden brown and crispy
  5. Remove and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil
  6. Sprinkle with salt or preferred seasoning while hot
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving
